Join NYFD Chief, John Buckeit, for an informative presentation and and discussion on High Rise Fire-Fighting.

Buckheit is a New York City Fire Chief with nearly three decades of firefighting and emergency response experience.
In 1986 Buckheit joined the New York Fire Department and was assigned to Downtown Brooklyn. In 2008, he became a Battalion Chief in Midtown Manhattan making him responsible for administration, training, and emergency operation of 7 fire units, comprised of 7 Captains, 21 Lieutenants, and 140 Firefighters.
The area has hundreds of high-rise buildings housing thousands of occupancies. Hundreds of thousands of residents, commuters, and visitors use the local resources daily. It is also home to critical infrastructure features including the Penn Station Transportation Hub, the Empire State Building, Macy’s Department Store, and the Google Building.
